Jana is a nationally recognized family law practitioner with more than two decades of experience advising individuals and families through complex, high-stakes transitions. She is known for her strategic sophistication, discretion, and steady counsel, guiding clients through emotionally charged matters with clarity, confidence, and care, while remaining focused on long-term financial and family outcomes.
Her practice centers on complex and high-asset family law matters, including divorces involving significant wealth, business interests, executive compensation, nonmarital claims, and intricate asset and income structures. Jana also advises on custody and parenting arrangements, child support, and spousal maintenance, as well as complex property valuation and division. She brings a refined, solutions-oriented approach to negotiation, settlement, and litigation.
In addition to her advocacy work, Jana serves as a Rule 114 Qualified Neutral, providing alternative dispute resolution services including mediation, arbitration, and evaluative processes. Her deep subject-matter knowledge and composed, impartial approach make her a sought-after neutral for parties seeking efficient and confidential resolution outside the courtroom.
Jana is highly engaged in the legal community as a frequent speaker and published author on advanced family law issues. She also teaches family mediation as an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and at the Mediation Center of Minnesota, reflecting her commitment to leadership and the continued development of family law practice.
She joined the firm in 2026 with colleagues from Moss & Barnett, where she served on the board of directors and the firm’s community outreach committee. Jana earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in history from the University of North Dakota, and her J.D., with distinction, from the University of North Dakota School of Law, where she was an editor of the University of North Dakota Law Review.
