Attorney Renee Read’s practice focuses primarily on divorce and family law, particularly matters involving high-asset property division, business valuation, executive compensation, maintenance (alimony), child custody disputes and other financially sophisticated issues. With more than two decades of legal experience, Renee has built a reputation for providing thoughtful counsel, strategic advocacy and practical solutions tailored to each client’s unique circumstances and long-term objectives.
Throughout her career, she has represented individuals from a broad range of professions and backgrounds, including business owners, executives, attorneys, and other professionals (veterinary, dental, medical, sports/entertainment), whose legal matters require careful financial analysis and strategic planning.
Renee believes that successful family law representation requires more than a thorough understanding of the law. It requires careful preparation, sound judgment, responsive communication and a strategy designed around each client’s individual goals. She understands that divorce often affects far more than legal rights – it can impact families, financial security, businesses, careers and future opportunities. Whether negotiating a settlement or advocating in the courtroom, Renee remains focused on helping clients make informed decisions while protecting what matters most.
Renee’s commitment to legal excellence and exceptional client service has earned recognition from both the legal profession and the clients she serves. For seven consecutive years, she has received the Martindale-Hubbell Client Champion Silver Award, a distinction based on verified client feedback and earned by fewer than 1% of attorneys. She also maintains a perfect 10.0 Avvo rating and has consistently been recognized among the top 2.5% of attorneys in the region. Her additional honors include: Wisconsin Law Journal Women in the Law 2026 recognition, the Fox Cities Future 15 Award, repeat selection as a Wisconsin Family Law Super Lawyer (Thomson Reuters), and selection as a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation.
An active leader within the legal profession, Renee served two terms as the District 3 Representative to the State Bar of Wisconsin Board of Governors, including service on its Executive Committee. She currently serves on both the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Law Foundation. In addition, she has been elected twice to act as a Wisconsin delegate to the American Bar Association. Renee is committed to advancing the practice of family law through professional leadership, legal education and the thoughtful exchange of ideas. She has presented continuing legal education programming and participated in podcasts addressing family law topics.
Before joining Remley Law, Renee practiced in Southern Wisconsin, where she developed broad experience in both litigation and transactional law that continues to benefit her clients today. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to delivering representation that is strategic, compassionate and results-oriented. Her objective is not simply to help clients through the legal process, but to help them protect what matters most and move forward with clarity, confidence and a plan for the future.
