Kermit L. Roux, III

Kermit Tre’ Roux III is a New Orleans-based attorney with a diverse litigation practice, with a particular focus on family law matters. He is recognized for guiding clients through complex and often sensitive domestic issues with a steady and practical approach aimed at achieving efficient and amicable outcomes.

Tre’ regularly represents clients in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, contested custody, child support, spousal support, relocations, visitation, domestic abuse, community property, and paternity claims. Alongside his family law practice, Tre’ maintains a substantial civil litigation practice. He represents insureds, claims adjusters, third-party administrators, and underwriters in litigation and appeals, acting as a trusted advisor to major insurance companies across the United States, Canada, Bermuda, and London. He also defends hotels, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, convenience stores, and transportation companies against premises liability claims, food poisoning claims, slip and fall incidents, chemical exposure, and other catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims. His experience spans all facets of civil litigation, including single-party, multi-party, and class action cases.

In addition to his legal practice, Tre’ serves as the Legal Staff Officer for the Eighth U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary District, Coastal Region, where he handles legal matters for the Division, its Flotillas, and its 1,900 members. He has also served as Flotilla Commander for the New Orleans-based Flotilla 4-3 and as a Staff Officer for the Fourth Division of the Eighth District, Coastal Region. His service has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Auxiliary Award of Operational Merit, the Auxiliary Sustained Service Award, the Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation, the Coast Guard Unit Commendation, the Specialty Training Award, the Operations Program Award, the Program Examiner Award, the Auxiliary Membership Award, and the Sustained Service Award for more than 3,000 cumulative hours of service.
