Susan Myres is an experienced family law attorney whose practice is centered on resolving complex domestic matters through both litigation and alternative dispute resolution. With a long-standing focus on conflict resolution, she is known for guiding clients through challenging situations with a thoughtful, practical, and client-centered approach.

Susan’s family law practice encompasses a wide range of matters, including cases involving high net-worth individuals and complex property issues. Her background in business and tax law provides valuable insight in matters involving businesses and financial structures. She works with clients to resolve disputes through litigation, mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law, tailoring her approach to the needs of each family.

Over the course of her career, Susan has developed a strong interest in mental health, psychology, and interpersonal dynamics, which informs her ability to meet clients where they are and help them navigate difficult decisions. She emphasizes that clients remain in control of the decisions that affect their lives, providing guidance and options to ensure they are fully informed throughout the process.

Susan’s path to family law evolved over time. Although she initially pursued tax law during her studies at the University of Houston Law Center, her participation in mock trial competitions led her to focus on litigation and conflict resolution. Early in her career, she gained significant courtroom experience, including multiple jury trials within her first two years of practice. Through her work and mentorship, she developed a strong family law practice and found her professional focus.

She is deeply involved in the family law community through her longstanding work with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, where she has held leadership roles for more than a decade and served as President in 2019–2020. Her involvement with the organization has provided valuable resources for her clients and reflects her commitment to the advancement of family law practice.

Susan was born in San Antonio and has lived in Houston for most of her life. Outside of her practice, she is active in her church and local community. She is married to John Uri and has a daughter who is also pursuing a career in law.
