Dimitra S. Scott

Dimitra is Chair of the Divorce & Family Law and Adoption & Assisted Reproduction practice groups at Beresford Booth PLLC, where she advises clients on a wide range of complex family law matters. With more than twenty years of experience, she is known for combining practical judgment with compassion, helping clients navigate emotionally challenging situations with clarity and confidence.

Her family law practice encompasses divorce, relationship planning, and related domestic matters, including the drafting and negotiation of cohabitation, prenuptial, and postnuptial agreements. Dimitra works closely with clients to understand their goals and develop tailored strategies, whether resolving disputes through negotiation and litigation or proactively planning for future relationships. She is particularly focused on providing creative, family-centered solutions that align with each client’s long-term objectives.

Dimitra also has a significant practice in adoption and assisted reproduction law. As a Fellow of the Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (AAAA), she advises clients on a range of family-building options, including adoption, surrogacy, and ova, sperm, and embryo donation. She guides intended parents and donors through every stage of the legal process, from match and jurisdictional considerations to the preparation of agreements and securing legal parentage rights, both within Washington state and beyond.

Her approach is grounded in the understanding that no two families are the same. She works closely with each client to navigate the legal, practical, and personal aspects of forming or restructuring a family, ensuring that their goals and expectations are clearly defined and supported throughout the process.

Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Dimitra graduated magna cum laude from Menlo College in California. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law and joined Beresford Booth in 2004, becoming a partner in 2016.
