Carol Ghingher Cooper is a Maryland attorney whose practice is dedicated primarily to family law. She represents clients across a wide range of domestic matters, providing experienced guidance through both contested and negotiated proceedings.
Carol advises clients on all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody and child access, visitation, child support, alimony and spousal support, division of assets, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, as well as related litigation. She has represented clients in Baltimore City and throughout Baltimore, Howard, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford, and Montgomery counties. Her approach combines litigation experience with a strong focus on negotiation and alternative dispute resolution, allowing her to tailor strategies to the needs of each matter.
Her practice also includes mediation, where she serves both as a neutral mediator and as counsel representing clients throughout the mediation process. In addition, Carol is trained in Collaborative Law and advocates for clients through the collaborative process. She is a founding member of The Collaborative Professionals of Baltimore, an interdisciplinary group committed to advancing collaborative practice as a constructive and respectful method of resolving disputes.
Carol has been actively involved in the Family Law Committees of the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Bar Associations. Early in her career, she interned for three judges of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and has contributed to local family law publications. On June 15, 2015, she was appointed as a Standing Auditor for the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, where she handles matters requiring audit and examines, states, or settles accounts referred by the court.
Outside of her practice, Carol enjoys attending sporting events and concerts, going to the movies, watching the Baltimore Ravens, exercising, and reading.
