Mark A. Chinn, founder of Chinn & Associates, is a seasoned Jackson, Mississippi family law attorney with nearly 50 years of experience guiding clients through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. He is dedicated to using his experience and insight to help clients navigate complex family matters and move forward with clarity and purpose.

He has authored and co-authored six books on the subject, all published by the American Bar Association, including The Divorce Paralegal Handbook (2023), co-authored with Janeah Kerr; How to Build and Manage a Family Law Practice (2nd Ed. 2018); Forms, Checklists and Procedures for the Family Lawyer (2nd Ed. 2021); and The Constructive Divorce (2007). He has also authored chapters in How to Capture and Keep Clients (2005) and 101+ Practical Solutions for the Family Lawyer. Mark is a frequent lecturer and speaker on family law topics and has received numerous accolades from respected publications and legal rating organizations.

Earlier in his career, Mark practiced across multiple areas of law before focusing exclusively on family law, where he found his skills and professional mission aligned. He earned his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in 1975 and his law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1978. He is admitted to practice in all Mississippi courts, the Fifth and Seventh Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.
