Professional Biography

Steve Reed is the founder of Reed Law Group, P.C. and an experienced trial attorney whose practice focuses primarily on family law matters. Practicing in the Ann Arbor area since 1992, Steve is known for his hands-on and highly accessible approach to client representation, guiding individuals through difficult legal matters with direct communication and strong advocacy.

Steve represents clients across a broad range of family law issues and takes a strategic and, when necessary, aggressive approach to achieving favorable outcomes. While family law remains the primary focus of his practice, he also has litigation experience in criminal law, personal injury, business disputes, and landlord-tenant matters.

In addition to his litigation practice, Steve serves in several court-appointed and alternative dispute resolution roles. He is a court-approved family law mediator, court-appointed arbitrator, Guardian ad Litem, and parenting coordinator. He is also trained in Collaborative Law Practice, allowing him to assist clients in resolving disputes through both traditional litigation and alternative processes when appropriate.

Steve has contributed to legal education through presentations for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the Washtenaw County Bar Association, and other professional organizations.

He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1991 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University. Steve is admitted to practice before all Michigan state courts, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.

Steve is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Washtenaw County Bar Association, as well as various sections within those organizations.
